How Our Church Started

With the heart of a servant, Pastor Reed has served in numerous capacities within the church. She accepted the call from God to Proclaim the Gospel in 2006, was Licensed in October 2007, and Ordained in August 2009. In 2018, Pastor Reed started a community Bible Study in her home. In 2019, God laid it on her heart to step out on faith and launch Restoration of Faith Ministries. It is with humility and diligence that Pastor Reed seeks to serve the people of God, the least and the lost, wherever the need arises in order to help fulfill the mission of the Kingdom:

“18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV

Vision Statement

The vision of Restoration of Faith Ministries is to reach those who have found themselves in hopeless (faithless) situations. This ministry was birthed out of an ever-pressing need for those who have been hurt, hindered, or harmed to now be reached, reconnected, and restored.

Under the leadership of Pastor Sheryl Reed, this ministry will reach those who have slipped through the cracks of their society, their religion, their community, and even their family to uplift and encourage their hearts with the love of God the Father through Jesus Christ, the Son, and by the power of the Holy Spirit. This ministry will restore hope in the hearts of the people with evidence of the love of the only one true and living God.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” - Hebrews 11:1

Mission Statement

The mission of Restoration of Faith is to reach the least and the lost with caring hands to meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. With a sincere heart, we will reconnect the least and the lost with a church body that demonstrates the love of Jesus Christ. Through teaching and preaching the Word of God, we will minister the restorative power of faith in the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” - Romans 10:17

“Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.” – 1 Corinthians 12:27

By faith, we will reach. By faith, we will reconnect. By faith, we will restore.

Biography of Pastor Sheryl Reed

Overcoming what would seem as insurmountable obstacles to the average person, Pastor Sheryl Reed has emerged as a treasure to the body of Christ. Pastor Reed is a born again, spirit-filled, Christian woman. Her Christian journey began at Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor T. J. Compton. During her 26 years of service there, she gained a strong spiritual foundation by actively participating in various organizations. Pastor Reed also credits her spiritual foundation to the wonderful examples, prayers, and encouragement given to her from her Great Grandmother (Sis. A. B. Aley), and Grandmother (Sis. Shirley “Punkin” Anderson), both of whom have been called home to Glory.

Pastor Reed is a spiritually mature and skilled warrior who is not afraid to stand up and proclaim the Word of God. The word she brings forth is founded in Scripture and ignited by the Holy Spirit to reach, reconnect, and restore the hearts and souls of God’s people.

Her ministerial training includes, but is not limited to, completing seminary classes at Houston Graduate School of Theology, Adjutancy Training with the Joint College of African American Pentecostal Bishops, and completing coursework with Oasis Bible Institute & Seminary. She has been tried and tested in the fire and has come out like a vessel of pure gold. She has stepped out on faith in sharing her testimony of experiencing abuse and desires to encourage women to push past their pain of abuse, break the silence and receive healing from it.

Pastor Reed is the loving wife of Deacon Claude Reed II. She is an educator with the Spring Independent School District. Pastor Reed is a graduate of Baylor University with a B.A. in Sociology, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at Grand Canyon University. In her spare time, Pastor Reed enjoys spending time with her family, reading, writing poetry and songs. Her favorite bible scriptures are:

Psalm 19:14

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

Be acceptable in Your sight,

O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Isaiah 40:28-31

28 Have you not known?

Have you not heard?

The everlasting God, the Lord,

The Creator of the ends of the earth,

Neither faints nor is weary.

His understanding is unsearchable.

29 He gives power to the weak,

And to those who have no might He increases strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,

And the young men shall utterly fall,

31 But those who wait on the Lord

Shall renew strength;

They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

They shall run and not be weary,

They shall walk and not faint.
